A Curator’s Cabinet, Part 1 is the first in an occasional series of exhibitions that re-visit the Eagle Gallery’s history over the last 30 years. The show includes ceramics, prints and artist’s books from the gallery’s archive alongside recent paintings and works on paper.

Amongst historic works in the installation are watercolour film cells by Cecily Brown from her first solo exhibition Four Letter Heaven which took place at the Eagle Gallery in 1995,  a bookwork by Jane Bustin and Andrew Renton: And a year ago I commemorated a missed encounter (2000) that is based on the life and work of Paul Celan and an early etching by Tom Hammick which is shown in counterpoint to a recent oil on canvas, Caged (2023). Graeme Todd (1962–2022), whose solo exhibition The View From Now Here took place in 2015, is represented by a painting from 2008 paired with the screenprint Crop Dust (2009). The Cabinet Room features paintings by Julia Farrer and Trevor Sutton and a ceramic by Catalina Montesinos.

Open Wed–Fri 11 – 6, Sat 11 –  4 and then by appointment from 09 – 19 August.
